Book Obsession

I am an avid reader, mostly of YA, but I do venture out into other fiction as well.  I am new to book reviewing and blogging, so please follow me!  Feedback welcomed.

Precious Blood

Precious Blood - Tonya Hurley, Abbey Watkins

So I read this for free as part of Simon Teen Pulse It's 31 days of reading  http://www.pulseit.com/.  This is not a book I would normally have chosen to read otherwise, but it was an interesting.

Hush, Hush

Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick

I had read this book before, but decided to read it again as part of Simon Teen's Pulse It 31 days of reading.  http://www.pulseit.com/ It was free for 24 hours yesterday and I managed to get through it!

I really enjoyed reading this again, going back to the beginning of Patch and Nora's story.  This was a great series, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to revisit it!

31 days of reading- Day 2

Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick Precious Blood - Tonya Hurley, Abbey Watkins

So far, I am 2 for 2, having finished Hush, Hush yesterday and Precious Blood today.  I have made it a personal challenge to read as much as I can (and hopefully finish) these books each day while they are free at http://www.pulseit.com/,  They are only free for 24 hours, so I am going to try to get through as many as possible!  The next couple of days are going to be busy, wish me luck!

Before We Fall

Before We Fall - Courtney Cole

Jacey from If You Leave (Beatifully Broken, #2) is back and trying to get her life back on track. No more falling for the wrong man, or so she thinks. Dominic is the ultimate bad boy. An actor who has women falling for him all over the place and no intentions on having a real relationship. Jacey and Dominic make each other question their beliefs on love and relationships.

All I have to say is "Wow!" What a great story! Two people with major relationship issues trying to navigate a relationship with someone they think is not what they want, but turns out to be exactly what they need. Dominic's story is so completely heartbreaking, and Jacey is proof that there are good people in the world, if he can just give her a chance. And their chemistry is amazingly hot!

Well done, Courtney Cole! Any chance there will be more books in this series? Personally I'm hoping for Sin's story sometime in the near future!

Poor Little Dead Girls

Poor Little Dead Girls - Lizzie Friend

Sadie is awarded a scholarship for lacrosse to the elite private school her mother attended. While she is wary about moving away, she is hopeful she will have a better chance of getting a college scholarship, and when she meets Jessica on her tour, she finds an instant friend.

Private school is not exactly what Sadie expected, but she begins to find her way, and ends up becoming a part of a creepy secret society that she doesn't even understand. And the more she finds out, the scarier it gets.

Sadie also meets and starts dating Jeremy from the boys' lacrosse team, and she is relieved when he is inducted into the secret society as well. But can she trust him when things get crazy?

This story was creepy and suspenseful, and Jeremy is so sweet and funny. What a great combination and a great read!

Roomies

Roomies - Sara Zarr, Tara Altebrando

Elizabeth (EB) and Lauren are notified they will be roommates in the fall when they begin at Berkeley. They begin a tenuous email relationship during the summer to get to know each other and make plans for the fall.

Told in alternating points of view, this story shares the beginning of a friendship of two girls, both trying to deal with moving on from their families and growing up.

As they struggle with relationships with their friends and boys, they end up turning to one another for help. While there are misunderstandings along the way, they end up forming a stronger bond than they thought possible.

This was such a sweet story about life, love, growing up and friendship. Too bad its not summer, this would have made a great beach read!

New Releases Today

Crash into You - Katie McGarry Pawn - Aimee Carter Crystal Fire - Jordan Dane

I have had the privilege of reading an advanced copy and reviewing these books that hit shelves today!

Crash Into You by Katie McGarry is a star-crossed lovers type story of a rich girl with a rebellious streak and a bad boy from the wrong part of town.

Pawn by Aimee Carter is a YA dystopian novel, one of the best I have read in this genre in awhile!

Crystal Fire by Jordan Dane is the second book in The Hunted series.  It is a YA paranormal series that is suspenseful and action-packed!

Check them out and enjoy!

Crystal Fire

Crystal Fire - Jordan Dane

I like the variety of points of view, its gives a broader picture of the plot, and I like knowing what everyone is thinking. The premise for this series is creative and interesting- the various psychic powers the children possess has really intrigued me! Action-packed, a little romance and a lot of mystery and suspense made this a very enjoyable read! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Crash Into You

Crash into You - Katie McGarry

Rachel and Isaiah....from different worlds, but so right for each other. Each dealing with their own personal demons, but somehow being together helps them feel okay again. Romantic and suspenseful, another great novel by Katie McGarry! I can't wait to read West's story, and I hope she will continue with all of Rachel's brothers, I find them very intriguing!

Searching for Someday

Searching for Someday - Jennifer Probst

Kate and Slade... what a fun, romantic, and magical story! I really enjoyed this novel, the girls' friendship, Kate and Slade driving each other to distraction, and the love for their families made this a very enjoyable novel on many levels.

The Curse Keepers

The Curse Keepers - Denise Grover Swank

When Collin walks into Ellie's restaurant, she has no idea the stories her father has been trying to tell her all her life are actually true. She is a Curse Keeper, and she and Collin have one week to close the gate to Popogusso (the spirit world)or all hell will literally break loose.

This book was suspenseful and sexy. Collin and Ellie have no idea what has hit them, as their combined magic sends them each into a tailspin. They fight more than they get along. Collin's sarcasm and Ellie's spunk make for a humorous combination.

Olivia Twisted by Vivi Barnes

Olivia Twisted - Vivi Barnes

Olivia Twisted is a modern "Oliver Twist" story about a unique teenage girl with amazing computer skills. Olivia meets Z and Sam, who live in a group home, at the high school she enrolls in at her latest foster care home. Olivia is soon drawn into their world of expensive vehicles and computer hacking.

Olivia Twisted is an engaging story. The characters are well developed and I found myself caring about them and feeling their struggles. This book is a very enjoyable teen romance with a suspenseful plot.
